The young Swede has been crowned 2020 Formula Regional Americas champion, after winning 12 out of 14 races giving him an inaccessible 91-point lead ahead. He secured the title at Homestead Miami Speedway, winning twice to put the championship out of reach for his rivals and was rewarded the esteemed scholarship offered by Honda for a fully-funded drive in INDYCAR feeder series Indy Lights next season.
“Absolutely incredible, this means so much for me and my career. It’s been, and continues to be, a season that I will never forget. I want to thank my team, Global Racing Group, and everybody who believes in me and helps me go forward”, says an ecstatic Linus Lundqvist.
For Lundqvist, the victory marks the third championship title in just five years. He previously won the Formula STCC Nordic title in Sweden back in 2016 and the prestigious BRDC British Formula 3 in 2018.
